Get to Know Julia.

I am originally from a quiet island outside of Seattle, and I spent the last three years living smack in the middle of everything in New York City.
If living in Manhattan taught me anything, it’s how much a Pacific Northwest girl I am at heart! So I’m back in Seattle (but still plan on spending time in New York since I can’t shake the travel bug!) and ready to make some magic. I bought my first camera after high-school graduation and haven’t looked back once. I have a crazy enthusiasm for people and a huge dose of affection and appreciation for the arts, and I am embracing my calling as a portrait photographer.

As an artist, my true passion is creating images that reveal the best possible version of you every time someone looks at them. I feel very strongly that a photo should represent true character and come fully loaded with personality. I want to celebrate existing; being involved and connected to and with other people. I want to embrace people in my imagery, making certain that everyone is always fully included.

I want to manifest warm smiles and goose bumps, confidence, and laughter in a welcomingly open environment. I want to give people the space that they need to embrace and celebrate the brightest and most positive elements of their beings.

I want there to be a vast, open, inviting space in my work to explore, discover, and nurture the most basic building blocks of relationships. Whether through a solo, sweetheart, or soulmates experience, I want our process to be enriching and encouraging.

These are the things I believe to be so very important. I want to add a positive element to all aspects of your photographic experience. Even the smallest, often over-looked details add up to create the visual imagery you will value and cherish. Moments worth treasuring pass us by all the time without recognition, and I want to change that. I want to share enthusiasm, excitement, butterflies in the stomach and sheer joyful bliss, and in doing so, create lasting reminders of those fleeting instances.
